Building Homes for a BETTER Tomorrow, TODAY

Our mission is to build high quality, energy efficient and environmentally conscious homes. We work with you from the design phase through the final walk-through, handling all aspects of construction to ensure a seamless process. We're dedicated to creating spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but sustainable for generations to come. Every homeowner is unique, and we take the time to really get to know you, understand your individual needs and goals, and develop a strong relationship as we work together to make your dream house a reality.

What is a Passive House?

Passive House is a designation given to buildings to meet defined metrics for energy use and performance. Passive Homes are designed and constructed to be highly energy efficient.

  • Energy-Efficient

  • Cost-Effective

  • Comfortable

  • Healthy

  • Versatile

Passive House (Passivhaus) is a building standard that is truly energy efficient, comfortable, affordable and ecological at the same time. Passive House is not a brand name, but a construction concept that can be applied by anyone and that has stood the test of practice.”

Benefits of Passive Houses

  • Passive Homes are designed and constructed to be sustainable and highly efficient. They reduce energy use by up to 90% in comparison to traditional homes by incorporating external insulation, high performance windows and doors, and energy recovery systems. Environmental benefits include reduced carbon emissions and climate resilience.

  • Passive Homes drastically cut heating, cooling and maintenance costs. Exterior thermal insulation provides an airtight seal and mitigates thermal bridging. High performance windows and doors, along with optimized solar heat gain, also reduce energy use. Passive House ventilation systems balance temperature and humidity, minimizing heating and cooling costs. High quality climate resilient construction ensures durability and lower maintenance compared to conventionally built homes. In addition, many state and federal programs offer rebates and incentives to encourage environmentally friendly building practices.

  • Passive Homes are free from drafts, overheating, or cold zones, making them incredibly comfortable. Elements like triple-glazed windows, super-insulation, and energy recovery systems ensure that no matter the season, indoor temperature and humidity are consistent throughout the house. Air-tight construction also provides reduced outside noise and quieter acoustics.

  • The ventilation systems designed for Passive Houses provide a continuous supply of fresh, clean air, free of pollutants, dust, allergens, or odors. This superior air quality allows for maximum comfort and health, especially for those with allergies or respiratory concerns.

  • Passive House standards don’t dictate aesthetics but are focused on quality and energy efficiency. They can be built to fit almost any design or architectural style, whether the building materials used are composite, wood, or pre-fabricated panels.

  • “HausWorks was AMAZING to work with! We worked with a Mike and team to finish our basement. He also ended up redoing our Master Bathroom as well when it unexpectedly failed due to our builder's negligence. They were thorough, kind, had an incredible eye for detail and I would hire him 100x over! I refer them any chance I get, and I HIGHLY recommend anyone considering using them - you won’t regret it!!”
